Kamini and Badal, the two dreamers were made for each other. Both of them became young sweethearts. But her father wanted Badal to be self-supporting before he would allow them to get married, otherwise he had a better match in view- the rich young Thakur of the village. Kamini persuaded Badal into going and looking for a job in the nearby town. Badal decided to go to the town and make good there. Though poor of pocket, he was generous of heart, He gave up his little room to an ailing beggar and left for town immediately. An accidental fire in his house that night rendered the blind beggar's body unrecognizable. Not knowing of Badal's presence there, everybody thought he died. Kamini was left a shadow of her former self, and she was delivered into the adoring hands of the innocent Thakur. She waited only for the day she would die, the day she would meet her Badal. And then she met him- a very different meeting! Badal came back. Completely broken, Kamini tried to do her duty, and asked him to forget her.
Unaware of her emotional conflict, full of bitterness and vengeance, Badal managed to interest her sister-in-law, Kamla, and he came to the house often, to see Kamla, but only to hurt Kamini. Then at Kamla's birthday, Badal had a play staged at Thakur's house. It was Badal's version of his and Kamini's romance. But in the middle of the play Kamini shouted "It is a lie, it's a lie". What happened then, what came after, is for you to see on the DVD.
