The Darjeeling Limited is a hilarious film about the three Whitman brothers trying to regain trust back in their family. The eldest Brother, Francis Whitman (Owen Wilson), has arranged a relaxing holiday through indian on the train Darjeeling Limited. The other two brothers, Peter Whitman( Adrian Brodie) and Jack Whitman (Jason Schwartzman), are apprehensive about embarking upon this journey across their late fathers native land. Through out the film there are constant humourous moments and a few heart breaking situations which really make the film unique. Francis is seen as the domanant brother by ordering his syblings food for them and arranging meditation methods for them, when they clearly aren't interested. They eventually get thrown off the train because of unusual but amusing circumstances and it is revealled to the younger brothers by Francis that he has tracked down their mother, whom abandoned them on numerous occasions through out their childhood. They go to see her but again she runs away from them. Through out their journey across india they regain their trust for each other and experience enlightenment through strange but moving occurances. This film is in itself a form of enlightenment. You can not help to love the characters and relate to them, how they react to each other and act in pecular situations gives this film it's wonderful humour.
